Sainte-chapelle Statue


On the central pillar separating the two doors which open into Sainte-Chapelle (Holy Chapel) is this 19th century statue of the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child. Inside the chapel over 1,000 biblical and other religious scenes are pictured in fifteen magnificent stained glass windows, each of which is fifty feet high.

In an arch above the portal to the lower chapel of the magnificent medieval Sainte-Chapelle is this sculpture of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary, which dates from the 19th century. Paris, France.
