Historic Ste. Anne Church
Ste. Anne Catholic Church was founded by French explorer Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac and his entourage two days after landing in 1701 at what would later become Detroit. It is the second oldest continually operating Roman Catholic parish in the United States and the only operating entity that predates the founding of the city. The parish has occupied eight different buildings in its long history. The first was built in 1701 and the present structure in 1886.
